Problem Theme
Connect two groups of people. During the pandemic, chefs are out of work and New Yorkers can't reach them.
Solution
Opening indoor "home dining" restaurants benefiting both chefs and customers. Chefs can cook from home, and customers can visit their "home restaurants" to enjoy the food.
Research
User Group
New Yorkers who cannot dine out and chefs who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
Diving deeper into the two main user groups I have identified, I learned there are two big categories of people in the first user group who miss dining out. The first group of people missed social interactions, service, and atmosphere, while the other group missed the food they couldn't replicate at home. I targeted the first group for two reasons. First, most restaurants are already focusing on takeout and delivery services that can provide food without a dining experience. And ultimately, most people miss the human interaction they used to get from dining out.
